Belinda Lennerz, MD

Dr. Belinda Lennerz is credentialed in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. She joined the endocrine division at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2015. Dr. Lennerz’s research focuses on understanding mechanisms that regulate food intake and energy homeostasis in obesity and carbohydrate restriction for types 1 and 2 diabetes and carnivore and ketogenic diets. She is a widely published researcher with Dr. David Ludwig from Harvard.

Jessica Turton, PhD, MND

Dr. Jessica Turton is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and the Director of Ellipse Health. She completed her Ph.D. to formally investigate the role of low-carbohydrate diets in the management of type 1 diabetes at the University of Sydney under the supervision of Associate Professor Kieron Rooney and Professor Grant Brinkworth.

Jessica has a passion for translating research into practice and in 2019 she published ‘An Evidence-based Approach to Developing Low-carbohydrate Diets in Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review’ in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.

Dr. Turton consults with hundreds of patients each year via both online and in-person communication and has successfully helped many individuals achieve type 2 diabetes remission with a low-carbohydrate dietary approach. She aims to translate high-quality scientific evidence into clinical practice by developing evidence-based resources, articles, infographics, and programs for her clients and the public.

She has a special interest in the role of nutrition in various clinical populations, including diabetes, overweight and obesity, PCOS, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), disordered eating, and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Turton has been a guest on numerous national and international podcasts, and she has participated as an invited speaker at many national conferences on low-carbohydrate diets.

Eric Westman MD, MHS

Dr. Eric C. Westman is an associate professor of medicine at Duke University Health System and director of the Duke Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. He combines clinical research and clinical care to deliver lifestyle treatments for obesity, diabetes and tobacco dependence. He is an internationally-known researcher specializing in low-carbohydrate nutrition. Dr. Westman is currently the vice president of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and a fellow of the Obesity Society and the Society of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Westman has co-authored the following books. Cholesterol Clarity, Keto Clarity, The New Atkins for a New You.
