How to Test using the Keto-Mojo Meter

  • Last updated December 3, 2017

The easiest way to learn how to test is to watch the video below, or download a PDF of here. But you are welcome to read on…

Ketone Testing

To test your ketone levels with a Keto-Mojo meter, follow these steps:

  1. Insert a fresh unused Keto-Mojo ketone strip into your Keto-Mojo meter, then wait while it checks (“CH”) until the meter shows the code that matches the number on the vial of strips and the droplet icon is flashing.
  2. Prick a freshly cleaned and dry area of your fingertip using the included lancing device, then ensure you get a blood droplet about half the size of a matchstick head.
  3. You have 3 minutes to get a reading before the meter will shut off.
  4. With the strip still in the meter, bring the tip of the strip to the droplet on your finger; on contact, it will draw in the blood via capillary action. Wait for the meter to start counting down before moving the strip from the blood droplet.
  5. Wait while the unit counts down, then gives you your result.

Glucose Testing

To test your glucose levels with a Keto-Mojo meter, follow these steps:

  1. Insert a fresh unused Keto-Mojo glucose strip into your Keto-Mojo meter, then wait while it checks (“CH”) until the meter shows the droplet icon flashing.

Am I applying my blood to the test strip correctly?

Following are common reasons people have problems filling the strip channel with enough blood, as well as easy solutions.

    • The strip was pushed into your finger and the flow of blood was stopped. To remedy the situation, try again with a new strip and gently touch the end of the strip to your blood droplet so that it travels up the channel freely.
    • You pulled away your finger/blood before the meter began counting down. To remedy, try again with a new strip and don’t pull your finger away until the meter begins counting down.
    • Your blood sample was too small. Try again with a new strip and bigger blood sample; you need a bead about half the size of a match head.

If you continue to have an issue after following the advice above and watching our How-To videos, please take a video of how you are testing and contact our support team. Customer support will get back to you promptly with a solution.
