Ursula Florido | Conference Manager

Ursula Florido - Manager

Initially trained as an architect, Ursula developed a particular interest in how buildings and light exposure can significantly impact people’s health, circadian rhythms, and human physiology. This growing interest led her to immerse herself in the scientific literature on neuroscience and metabolic research over the past 10 years.

In 2014, a pivotal study by Professor Thomas Seyfried from Boston College suggested that cancer is a metabolic disease, linking the condition to chronic inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and energy metabolism. Through Seyfried’s research on the therapeutic effects of a ketogenic lifestyle, caloric restriction, and the glucose-ketone index (GKI) in addressing metabolic diseases, Ursula discovered Keto-Mojo. She learned about the importance of maintaining an optimal GKI to create a bodily environment less conducive to cancer growth and other metabolic conditions.

Ursula has since transitioned her career from architecture and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in neuroscience at King’s College London. Her focus is on understanding how epigenetic factors, such as the ketogenic diet, affect biochemistry and various aspects of human brain physiology.

Based in Oxford, UK, Ursula joined Keto-Mojo as a Conference Manager in June 2024. In her role, she attends conferences worldwide, gathering insights from cutting-edge research in ketogenic and metabolic therapies. She is passionate about bringing back the latest findings from leading researchers to share with her team and advance Keto-Mojo’s mission of improving metabolic health.
