Accuracy of Ketone & Glucose Testing

  • Last updated December 6, 2017

Keto-Mojo Exceeds U.S. and International Standards

The Keto-Mojo meter and testing strips utilize the most advanced technology in in-vitro blood glucose and ketone testing.  Our meters exceeds all FDA standards and the more exacting ISO International standards, which is why we stand behind its accuracy 100% with a lifetime warranty!

Researchers, hospitals, clinics and doctors make Keto-Mojo their ketone and glucose meter of choiceAnd in independent and third-party studies comparing meter results against lab-based results (the highest standard of testing comparison), Keto-Mojo has outperformed other blood glucose and ketone meters.

Accuracy Levels for Ketones

There are many factors that affect home ketone testing, not the least of which is sample size relative to lab results. Your home diagnostic kit measures approximately 1 micro-liter of blood (or 1/5th of a drop).

For readings 2.0 mmol/L or less:

    • 100% accuracy within 0.5 mmol/L of your lab results
    • 90% accuracy within 0.3 mmol/L of your lab results

What this means: 90% of the time, your readings will be within 0.3 mmol/L of your Laboratory measurement.

For readings over 2 mmol/L:

    • 100% of the time we will be within 25% of your lab results
    • 97% within 15% of your lab results
    • 81% within 10% of your lab results

What this means: 81% of the time, your readings will be within 10% of your lab results.

Accuracy Levels for Glucose

There are many factors that affect home ketone testing, not the least of which is sample size relative to lab results. Your home diagnostic kit measures approximately 1 micro-liter of blood (or 1/5th of a drop).

The accuracy range for readings under 75 mg/dL are:

    • 100% within 15 mg/dL
    • 97% within 10 mg/dL
    • 67% within 5 mg/dL

The accuracy range for readings over 75 mg/dL are:

    • 100% within 20%
    • 98% within 15 %
    • 96% within 10 %
    • 79% within 5 %

What this means: 96% of the time you reading will be within 10% of your laboratory results.

Why are my results different if I take multiple tests from the same blood sample?

When testing you blood ketones or glucose, you may receive different measurements even from the same blood sample. It is not uncommon in home testing given the small size of the sample.
