I følge Dr's Jeff S. Volek Phd, RD og Stephen D. Phinney MD, Phd, forfattere av Kunsten og vitenskapen om å leve med lite karbohydrater, er den optimale sonen for ernæringsketose mellom 0,5 til 3,5 mmol / l for generelt vekttap og helsemessige fordeler. Høyere nivåer av ketose fra 3 til 5,0 mmol / L er ønskelige for terapeutiske formål.

Ketonnivåene dine vil endre seg gjennom dagen. De er vanligvis lavere om morgenen og høyere senere på dagen hvis de faste 2-3 timer. Utvidet faste og trening kan også påvirke ketonnivået ditt.
